From its industrial roots to its modern-day transformation, Eraserhood remains one of Philadelphia’s hidden gems. Once home to bustling factories and workshops, the area was immortalized by filmmaker David Lynch, whose iconic 1977 experimental film Eraserhead was directly inspired by his harrowing and exhilarating experience living in the neighborhood. Today, it’s a vibrant, multifaceted community filled with residential spaces, restaurants, cafes, beer gardens, nightlife, parks, and public art that tell the stories of the people who have shaped the neighborhood over the years.
