About the event
Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Philadelphia jazz legend John Coltrane’s birth with live music, art, and an evening at the Barnes.
October’s First Friday features vocalist and pianist V. Shayne Frederick, hailed by The Philadelphia Inquirer as “one of the region’s greatest jazz singers.” Frederick has spent nearly 20 years captivating audiences across the country, and for this special evening, he’ll gather a first-class quintet for two performances honoring Coltrane and his legacy.
Come for the music and make a night of it with cocktails and light fare, plus access to the Barnes collection, "Noguchi to Asawa: Designing Postwar America," and "Just Us."
