On July 11, I'm launching the Saloon Singer’s Song Salon Series @Rebel & Wolf (1700 Moyamensing Avenue @ Morris Street on the southeast corner of Dickinson Square Park) in the heart of Pennsport, South Philadelphia!
The theme for July is “I’m Throwing a Marvelous Party!,” an evening of songs celebrating fêtes, fiestas, and festivities! Our set will consist of selections from the Great American Songbook, Broadway, and a few nightclub staples to round out the night, including tunes from Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim, Noël Coward, Cy Coleman, Charles Strouse, Steve Allen, and Peggy Lee, among others. My long-time musical director, friend, and collaborative pianist Michael Raab will dazzle us on the keys.
Doors will open at 5:30 pm and we’ll get started a little after 6:00 pm. Our program will last approximately 45 minutes with time beforehand and afterwards for casual socializing. (We’ll close the joint around 7:3…
