About the event
Hailing from Buffalo, New York, Richard LaRouech is a trombonist emerging as a distinctive voice in today’s jazz landscape. In the spring of 2024, Richard earned a degree in Jazz Performance and Music Education from William Paterson University, where he studied with leading New York City jazz artists such as Bill Charlap, Jeremy Pelt, and John Mosca. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Temple University where he is a part of the award-winning Temple Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Terell Stafford.
His musicianship has earned national and international recognition, including finalist honors in the International Trombone Association’s Carl Fontana and J.J. Johnson Jazz Trombone Competitions, and first prize in the American Trombone Workshop National Jazz Trombone Competition. His work has been featured on WBGO, WRTI, and the New Jersey Jazz Society Magazine.
