🎷 Nasir Dickerson, Emmy Award-winning saxophonist and martial artist, leads his large ensemble Life Light Empower in a live performance that bridges sound, spirit, and cultural memory. Raised in the Universal African Dance & Drum Ensemble founded by his parents, Dickerson channels diasporic rhythm, Black consciousness, and improvisational jazz into a vibrant musical ritual—part concert, part invocation.
🎧 J. Michael Harrison, the legendary WRTI radio host and curator of The Bridge, celebrates 30 years of championing genre-defying sound and Black creative expression. A longtime collaborator of the Painted Bride, Harrison has supported and promoted the organization’s jazz offerings since his earliest days on 90.1 FM.
