Ensemble Novo celebrates the windswept melodies and easygoing dance rhythms of Brazil. The Philadelphia-based five-piece explores samba, bossa nova and contemporary Brazilian styles through the lens of improvisation, creating a warm, spacious, inviting sound. The musicians balance crisp group execution with spirited solo explorations -- the focus is on the vibes and moods you'd hear on Rio's beaches or in some sleek hidden Sao Paulo cocktail lounge.
