Shane Adam Aaserud is a professional Musician, Composer and Bass player based in Philadelphia, PA. He earned his Master’s in Jazz Studies from the University of the Arts in 2015 and has since performed across the country in groups spanning a wide range of genres. His credits include the Philadelphia legs of the national tours for The SpongeBob Musical and Mrs. Doubtfire: The Musical, Johnny Rivers, Freda Payne, Sally Struthers, Marilu Henner, as well as ongoing collaborations with Philadelphia artists like Ben O’Neill, Dave Allen, Mervin Toussaint, and Calli Graver.
His playing can be heard on:

While jazz remains a central focus of his work, Shane also performs with a cover band and occasionally appears in contemporary christian music churches. He is an active member of the Union in Local 77 and can be found on YouTube performing with various groups in the Philadelphia jazz scene.
He now turns his focus to composition and leading from the bass, with an original album entitled Music for an Apparition of One’s Self.
