The Philly Jazz Voice
Concert Series • Publication

The Philly Jazz Voice is a weekly performance series, hosted Jake Kaplan, that is designed to feature the massive range of artists and musicians within our own Philly Jazz/Creative Music/Black American Music community.
The Philly Jazz Voice Series is also a publication, released on a monthly basis, meant to highlight our community with creative writing, gig reviews, album reviews, and think pieces. The published edition of The PJV will also take submissions for photography, visual art, extended essays in some cases.
- Preserving Philhadelphia’s rich legacy of innovative improvised music
- Honoring individual and communal expression through the celebration of Black American Music
- Subverting a market that does not value our art through solidarity, creativity, and inclusivity
- Deliberately creating a space to document what Philadelphia’s Creative Music Community is, and can be.
