Succession Fermentory at A Man Full of Trouble
127 Spruce St, Philadelphia, PA 19106

Come visit the SUCCESSION Fermentory tasting room at the historic A Man Full of Trouble Tavern (aMFoT), 127 Spruce St, Philadelphia, PA. Built in 1759, it is the only pre-Revolutionary War tavern remaining in Philadelphia. After being closed to the public since 1994, the space has been carefully restored and re-opened as an intimate 25-seat tasting room and bar.
SUCCESSION Fermentory, founded in 2021 by brewer Keith Hartwig and chef Justin Kerber, with wine aficionado and food industry expert Benjamin Devon joining the team in 2022, is a true farmhouse brewery focused on growing, foraging, and fermenting ingredients that reflect the character of Pennsylvania’s land and seasons. At the tavern, guests can enjoy their range of spontaneously fermented, sour, and farmhouse beers on draft, cask, and in bottle, alongside a curated selection of Pennsylvania wines and spirits.
No reservations are required to visit. For private events, contact contact@successionfermentory.com. Hours and updates can be found on their website and social media.
SUCCESSION Fermentory hosts a live improvised music series every Sunday from 5–7pm in collaboration with PhillyJazzScene.com, as well as a variety of musical acts throughout the week.
